Email attachments are limited to 25 MB and most cloud-sharing services require both sender and recipient to create accounts. net-tools' Secure File Upload removes both barriers: upload up to 10 GB, receive an encrypted download link, and share it instantly — no accounts on either side.
Important note on privacy: Files are stored encrypted at rest and in transit. They cannot be accessed by anyone except those who hold the link. Once the expiry time passes, the file is irreversibly deleted — there is no recovery possible after that point.
When you download software, firmware, or large datasets, you need to be sure the file hasn't been corrupted in transit or tampered with by a third party. Cryptographic hashing is the standard method for this: the file's content is fed through a mathematical function that produces a fixed-length string called a checksum or hash. Even the tiniest change in the file produces a completely different hash.
Why browser-side hashing matters: Because net-tools performs the hash calculation locally in your browser using the Web Crypto API, your file never leaves your machine. This makes it completely safe to use with sensitive or confidential files.
